netball frenzy

Held at the MPSC (opposite the Mochtar Riady building for those who still do not know), the change in sport event from handball girls (this friday instead) to netball did not fail to bring in the crowds.

With their new IBG singlets, the first game was between the Hen Eekers and the Beekers.

Being the relatively more sporty ones to watch out for, the game proved that Blk E has more control over the game with smooth passes and good defense skills.

The first half ended with 7-1 to the elmo-lovers.

Sadly, just after the second half started, we witnessed the first injury of the night. Fortunately it wasn't very serious and the game continued with Blk B fighting back, rounding up the game with a 4-10.

Block E wins

With Hui Zhen, a pro netballer playing for block C, as well as a relatively stronger freshie-senior team, it was evident that the C-towners were leading the game with their first point scored just five seconds in the game. Despite facing strong opponents, the Acers didn't give up having a fun and good game. Using their style of getting the ball and throw a long pass to Hui Zhen to score was block C's method of winning, on top of having Margaret, our super tall friend who is not blue joining in the second half, Block C took home the game with 17-2.

Block C wins

Well, it was great with the Block Dee supporters cheering so enthusiastically, you would have enjoyed their melodious cheers. Maybe that was their secret to holding the eekers down.

But Lady Luck wasn't shining on them as they faced the Eekers who were better at passing and intercepting the opponent's ball to score.

Don't worry though, it's just IBG and the main objective is for fun and to let everyone be exposed to the sport! (:

Block E wins

With shooting stars of 100% accuracy as their GS (goal scorer) and GA (goal attacker), the Acers' height and skill advantage gave them the game win.

Despite block C's role reversal for their GS and GA resulting in an additional point scored, it wasn't enough for them to pick up the game from there.

The fast-paced game started with block C and block D where in spite of facing the more experienced players from C-town, the Dees put up a good fight and didn't let go easily.

Even so, block D wasn't able to kick block C out of the finals.

As seen from the text in the photo, Block C are the champions of Netball IBG 10/11!

With Soh Min and Hui Zhen as their star players, it gives reason for the thrash with two points earned just minutes into the game.

Up against the giant, the eekers played their best but it still wasn't enough to pull them through.
